Key Activities and Achievements

  • Village Surveys:

Conducted detailed surveys in six adopted villages to identify and assess key social, environmental, and infrastructural challenges. These surveys formed the foundation for planning targeted interventions and projects.

  • Water Management and Environmental Conservation: At Belgaon Dhaga, the UBA team visited to study water management systems, filtration, drainage, tree plantation, and artificial ponds under the “Catch the Rain” initiative. These efforts highlighted the potential for water conservation and ecological restoration in rural settings.
  • Tree Plantation and Environmental Awareness: Organized a tree plantation drive in Kachurli on October 4, 2024, where 70 trees were planted in collaboration with the Ashramshala. Students were given responsibility for nurturing the trees, fostering environmental stewardship and a sense of ownership. This initiative promoted awareness about the importance of trees in ecological balance and sustainable living.
  • Assessment of Basic Amenities at Kachorli Ashramshala: During the visit to the Ashramshala at Kachorli, the team analyzed the availability of essential amenities, including education, healthcare, and drinking water facilities. Discussions with the institution’s head led to identifying areas for future interventions to enhance the quality of life for students and villagers.
  • Sustainable Energy Project at Matori: Implemented an Off-Grid Solar Power System at Janata Vidyalaya in Matori, providing uninterrupted power for classrooms during frequent load-shedding. The project reduced operational costs, improved the learning environment, and demonstrated the effectiveness of renewable energy solutions for rural schools.
  • Community Collaboration and Awareness Building: Strengthened ties with community stakeholders, such as village leaders and school heads, to collaboratively address rural development challenges. Faculty and students actively engaged in promoting awareness about sustainable practices, including water conservation, tree plantation, and renewable energy.
  • Empowering Students and Faculty: Involved 36 students and multiple faculty members in hands-on activities, providing them with real-world exposure to rural challenges and enabling them to develop innovative solutions that address these issues effectively.
