Department of Mechanical Engineering is established in year 1999. Department offers Bachelor of Engineering degree with an intake of 120 students and Post Graduate degree in Design Engineering with an intake of 24 students, which has been affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. We have well qualified and dedicated staff and is known for its high academic standard, well-maintained discipline and complete infrastructure facilities. The dedication and hard work of the staff members have given fruitful results with our students securing ranks at University examination consistently.
Many MoUs are signed with various industries offering opportunity to the students to work on live industry projects. We have received grant from government of India, BCUD, SPPU, etc. for research work and various workshops. Our students are excellent at National level and State level project competition like Avishkar.
There are 11 laboratories in the department. A separate CAD/CAM/CAE laboratory has been developed with various softwares such as CATIA, CREO, ANSYS, Pro-ENGINEER, AutoCAD, MATLAB etc. We also conduct various certificate courses like Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Product Design for the students as per the needs of the industry. The Department also has a well-established workshop for training in Smithy, Carpentry, Welding, Fitting and Machine tools.
The department has a departmental association MESA and Students’ chapter SAE which organizes National level competitions. The department organizes various Industrial visits, Seminars and Workshops for students. SAE –INDIA Collegiate club is also formulated under which students of all departments are enthusiastically taking part in making the SAE INDIA vehicle.
